Bikeways of Orange County (Century)

Distance: 95 miles and 2500 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

The first 30 miles are fairly flat as we work our way south east down to Irvine. We use a few bike trails along the way. In Irvine we begin a gradual climb up to where we pick up the Aliso Creek Trail not far from its highest point. At about mile 45 we do the only significant climbing of the day as we go up and over Glenwood Dr/Pacific Park & Wood Canyon (the spike in the center of the profile). After that there are a few more miles of bike trails before we head to the coast in Newport Beach and take PCH back to the start.  Except for the hills in the center of the ride (about mile 48), most of the climbing is fairly gradual and even the main climb doesn’t get much above 700 feet above sea level. With a total of only 2500 feet of climbing, this is a very flat century.
