Winding Roads of Orange Co (Long)

Distance: 61 miles and 3000 feet of elevation gain (barometric)

Both the long and the medium stay together for the first 20 miles. They both head southeast through Irvine and Lake Forest before splitting. This long route splits off to do an extra loop which includes a climb up Glenwood Dr/Pacific Park Dr and Wood Canyon (the bump at about mile 25 on the profile).  We rejoin the medium route on Oso Parkway where we can join them for lunch. After lunch we continue the long up-grade on Antonia Parkway to reach the peak at about mile 40. There is a second peak a few miles later, but then the route is mostly downhill as we ride back across Irvine to the finish.  The map accompanying the medium route description shows the difference between the long and medium routes.
